WISH YOU WERE HERE AT 500 ORANGE AVENUE

Public Art in the Peacocks Arts District

This mural is for the community of Fort Pierce, Florida. It was commissioned by the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency. They worked with local property owners, the City of Fort Pierce, and Professional Artists. The mission was to create works of art capturing the past, present and or future of the historic city. This is one of four new mural installations in the Peacock Arts District in the Downtown area along Orange Avenue.

Zoey Alyssa of Tigress Mural & Design is responsible for these mural installations on the historic 500 Orange building which served as the city’s first postal office and the mural seen at 710 Orange Avenue, Guardians of the Grove.

500 Orange

Four murals can be seen around the building. Three of the murals tribute the building’s original purpose. They can be interpreted as old postcards depicting this exotic, fruitful and historic old town.
